[Tweener] Blend a tweener MC (as2)

Hi guys,

my tweener experience is a few days old but I'm already loving it - no
suprise ;-)
Have however a question that I was hoping that somebody could help me with.

How would I blend a tweener-altered MC to another MC? What I'm particularly
interested is saturation.

For example - I have a large colorful background MC and another smaller MC
(basically a box) that it animated over it. What I would like to do is have
my smaller MC blended to the background MC so that the part of the
background with the box over it is black and white (and the other parts of
the background remain the same).

Its pretty easy to change the saturation on a MC in tweener - but how would
I change a saturation to only part of a movieclip? Something like Photoshop
has for example - where you blend a black layer to another layer with
saturation/color so that the blended part is in B/W.
