[Tweener] as3 sound tween get volume

Hi I have a question about using tweener on sounds in AS3. How can I check the current volume of the tween? I have made a crossfade function using tweener but if the user pauses the player during a crossfade I need to stop both sound channels and pause the tween then resume it all when they unpause. The issue is that when you stop then start a channel it resets the volume to one so I need to check what the current volume status of the tween was when paused so I can reset the channel to that volume so the crossfade can pick up from where it left off.
