[Tweener] Movement tweens stop working

Hi Everyone, 
 
I'm new to tweener and have started using it to animate some movements. 
 
For some reason, as my flash project has become more complex, the tweens have stoped working reliably.
 
For example, I know that the trigger for the tween has succeeded, but the tween does not start. In some instances the tween aborts mid tween.
 
1 - has anyone noticed similar behaviour?
 
2 - any ideas to investigate this more ?
